What Inspires Me to Teach?
As an education student, I've realized that teaching is not just about writing lesson plans or performing demonstration teaching in front of a class. At first, I thought those were the most important parts of becoming a teacher. But as I continue my journey in this field, I am beginning to understand that teaching is much deeper than that.
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."
— William Arthur Ward
Teaching Beyond the Lesson Plan
In fact, teaching is about reaching students, understanding their struggles, and helping them learn not only academically but also personally. What inspires me to teach is the thought that someday I can make a difference in a student's life. A teacher's words, guidance, and encouragement can influence how a student sees themselves and their future.
This realization motivates me to keep going despite the challenges of being an education student. I want to become a teacher who does more than just teach lessons — I want to inspire, guide, and support students as they grow. Knowing that I can help shape the future, even in small ways, is what truly inspires me to teach.
